15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. 16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. 17 Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! 18 Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.
One of my FAVORITE parts of today’s scripture is: “Elijah was just a human like we are!!” That part! Sometimes we can feel so small & helpless compared to all the uncertainties around us! After all, We’re only human! But what’s impossible with man is always possible with God!! (Luke 18:27) The emphasis of prayer isn’t on the one who’s praying.. instead on the One we’re praying to!!!
Praying to a God who holds more power in his pinky than any force known to man is a pretty big deal and a pretty awesome privilege, don’t you think!
He controls the things beyond our control! He knows what’s best even when we don’t!
Yes! Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have. But what good is a tool, if we don’t use it. What good is having a key, if we rarely unlock the door way to the peace, the blessings & the relationship with God we so desperately need! Prayer gives us access to the divine, to the supernatural, to understanding, to clarity! It gives us access beyond our human nature and abilities! Access to a rich and flourishing relationship with Christ!
Yes! Prayer is the way to reach the answer to our most profound needs. Prayer quiets the soul in the most difficult and adverse circumstances that we face.
In times like these putting our trust in the hands of God, who is able to make the impossible become possible is KEY! God is able to do things outside our own rational comprehension & understanding!
He’s able to heal, save & deliver!
And our passionate conversation with a loving & listening God has so much power!!
The effective, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
Meaning... our prayers are effective!! They’re powerful!
Today we challenge you to pray with your loved ones!
